Disconnect for connection
Bombardment (a definition) - a continuous flow of questions, criticisms, or information.
Do you ever feel just a little bit bombarded? A little bit overwhelmed? I think we probably all do at some point. We are so overstimulated with information being flung at us from all angles and such long never ending to-do lists.
With social media, we consume tiny snippets of information, all fractured and disconnected. Nuggets from different sources; family, friends, businesses, strangers all saying different things. A tweet, an update, a picture. We don't have time for the entire story, no opportunity to explore the whole situation or finish the ending.
So much of our world is cut and cropped and filtered and summarised.
Is there just a little too much outside of ourselves?
So just for this moment, stop and breathe. Disconnect from technology and reconnect with yourself. How are you feeling? What do you need? Tune in and listen to the world within.
Use your senses to explore inwards. Close your eyes and notice how your body is connecting with the floor, your seat. What can you feel? What can you taste and smell and hear. How is your heart?
Right now, in this moment, nothing else matters. This moment right now is all there ever is, so be in it completely and simply turn off and tune out everything else.
This is your story. It's the most important one, so regardless of all the other stories and clutter and noise around you, just make sure you don't miss it.
Take a moment to find the calm, feel the calm, be the calm.
